In partnership with McKinsey's Black Leadership Academy, Seagate employees who self-identify as Asian, Hispanic/Latino, and Black attended networking events with industry peers, building valuable skills to grow and achieve as business leaders.
Throughout FY22, we continued to support our neurodiverse employees by providing them with educational and training programs in partnership with Uptimize, a leader in neurodiversity education. By partnering with Mind Shift, a nonprofit that focuses on how autism can be a competitive business advantage, we have fostered further equity as we recruit, assess, and train qualified candidates.
In 2020, we launched a company-wide ally training to help employees deepen their understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and what it means to be an ally. Since its launch, more than 700 employees have taken part, and in 2021, we launched a global effort aimed at providing employees with a guide to using gender-affirming pronouns.
In FY21, we joined this first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at mobilizing diverse talent and expertise from across industries, with the purpose of bringing about a more just and equitable society for all.
Partnering with the National Society of Black Engineers, we provided opportunities for Black and minority students to learn about our values and interview for internships.
We’re a proud signatory of the Diversity in Innovation Pledge, joining over 25 founding pledge companies in a shared commitment to implementing best practices in support of increasing inventor diversity.
